Twist Cord

The Twist Cord is a cocoon armchair built entirely from neon green braided synthetic cord, laid in dense loops and secured to a frame with exposed metal studs. Its slender tubular base with flared legs contrasts with the generous volume of the seat, and the piece is suitable for indoor use or sheltered outdoor settings.

The technical braided cord, similar to nautical rope, resists moisture and repeated friction with none of the upkeep of conventional textile upholstery. Each loop is fixed individually onto visible chrome studs along the upper edge, giving an honest, legible construction with no hidden stitching or stapling. Free-hanging cord fringes along the sides and backrest add a textured relief that changes with the viewing angle, while the fine flared metal base lifts the seat off the floor and visually lightens an otherwise substantial volume. The chair is also available in a camel/tobacco tone for more muted schemes.

Ideal for: lounges, hotel terraces and verandas, and reading corners that call for a sculptural, graphic piece. Worth noting: the interlaced cord collects dust in its recesses and benefits from regular cleaning with a cloth or soft-brush vacuum.
